Spicy Pepper Cookies
Ingredients:

| brown sugar | 1 cup | |
| granulated sugar | ¼ cup | |
| whole egg | 1 | |
| whole milk | 2 tablespoons | |
| vanilla extract | 1 tablespoon | |
| unbleached all-purpose flour | 2 cups | |
| ground cinnamon | 1½ teaspoon | |
| ground cardamom | 1/8 teaspoon | |
| ground nutmeg | ½ teaspoon | |
| black pepper | 1¼ teaspoon | freshly ground, if available |
| baking soda | ¾ teaspoon | |
| kosher salt | ½ teaspoon |
Procedure:
- Cream butter and sugars.
- Add egg, vanilla and milk.
- In a separate bowl, combine all remaining ingredients.
- Stir dry into butter mixture.
- Chill dough before rolling into spheres.
- Bake until cookies are golden on the edges and lose their gloss in the middle.
